At-Home Teeth Whitening: Does it work?

11:20 am Blog Post, Lifestyle, Mom Life, Review

I’m about to share something with you, friends. Are you ready? I must admit. I’m a bit nervous to share this, but I’m going to put on my big girl pants and get right to it. After having my children and still working full time, I started to see myself drinking coffee. Friends, I hated coffee most of life, but one day I tried it and oh my gosh it tastes so good and the caffeine keeps me awake. I’m officially a coffeeholic!  My children have a lot of energy and I can finally keep up with them after having a few cups of coffee. I should say kind of keep up with them.

Do you ever wonder how children have so much energy and adults don’t? I do!  A few years ago, something happened. I started to become insecure about my smile. My teeth were stained. I didn’t want anyone to laugh when I smiled. I would barely smile or laugh because I didn’t want anyone to see my teeth.  I’m so grateful for when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their product. I’m so pleased with my teeth and no longer feel insecure to smile. So, I bet your wondering how the kit works and how you can win one, right? Ok, I’m going to give you all the details.

Smile Brilliant asked me a few questions about my dental history. I answered them, and my kit arrived at my door in a few days. There are three easy steps. First, I had to make my dental impressions. I made them in the comfort of my home. I didn’t have to spend money on gas or wait for a long time for my name to be called at the dentist. Don’t you hate when you make a dentist appointment and still have to wait awhile to be seen by the dentist. Gosh that drives me crazy!

Smile Brilliant provided putty and plastic trays for me to create my impressions. I filled out the consent card and mailed in back with the trays in the envelope they provided.  I had to do my impressions over, but they mailed more impression materials to me free of charge. Second, once Smile Brilliant’s lab received my impressions, they sent me an email advising that my impressions were suitable. Yes! I was so happy to see that email. They created and made my trays. I received my trays in about four days. Third, to whiten and relax. I couldn’t wait to start the whitening process.

I’d did about eight whitening sessions for about 45 mins to about an hour. The funny thing is that sometimes I forgot I had the trays in because I would be doing things around my house. I would take care of my boys, fix them dinner, put on my makeup, and work. I started the whitening session putting about 1/3 of the springe the whitening gel in the trays. Then I would do the same for the desensitizing gel. I never whitening my teeth at night.

I can see a huge difference in the color of my teeth. Smile Brilliant has saved me so much money and they can do the same for you. Please see my before and after shots. These are not filtered! I repeat not filtered! These are my honest results.

So, are you ready to whiten your teeth and show off your smile? Did you enter the below giveaway? You can enter here to win a FREE whitening kit by Smile Brilliant ($$149 VALUE). The giveaway is open to Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and United States.

Happy 11th wedding anniversary to us! 💍 5 thing Happy 11th wedding anniversary to us! 💍
5 things that we’ve learned:

- As we get older, we change. It’s up to both of us to adjust to the change and be willing to accept the change. Change isn’t always bad. Change is good for growth!

- There will be times when we can’t stand each other. It’s up to us to work through the situations and move on. Life is too short to be mad at the person you love. Sometimes it’s the pettiest thing that makes us can’t stand our partners, but marriage is a partnership. It will work if both of you want it to.

- Never go to bed angry! That’s the worst because what usually happens is the situations continue to pile up. Think of it as a balloon. When you blow into the balloon, the balloon gets bigger and bigger to the point that it may pop. That’s the same thing when we’re angry with our partner. When you go to bed angry, you allow the anger to continue to build up. Then the situation explodes and it could’ve been resolved if you would’ve talked about it that night before it got worst.

- If you fall out of love, work on falling back into love if you want your marriage to work. This is a team commitment. Sometimes we fall out of love if our partner. They may stop complimenting us. Sometimes you may feel unappreciated and it’s up to you to express how you feel to your partner and for you guys to work on those things. So you can feel loved again and remember why you fell in love with them.

- Marriage isn’t always 50/50 and you should be ok with it. Sometimes you may be doing more than your partner. Sometimes your partner may be doing more than you and it’s ok as long as you guys work together to get things done. No marriage is perfect. It takes work. It takes commitment and it takes two people to make it work.

What’s one thing that you have learned in your marriage?

It’s something about watching a man (the head of the house) put things in order. My husband had a hard life growing up in Jamaica, but that doesn’t mean our children need to go through the same.

Generational trauma symptoms are low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, and self-destructive behaviors. It’s important to break these cycles. Working through the hurts, pain, and healing from the past helps our children to not go through the same.

How are you breaking the cycle of generational trauma?
