5 Things My Family Does to Make My Son’s School Transition EASY!!!

11:02 am Lifestyle, Mom Life

Do you have a son or daughter that is starting school for the first time? Have you started to prepare yourself and your child? If you have not, then you should read this before starting so you can be fully prepared.

*This post is my opinions and I am hoping it can help you and your family.*

The little cutie in the picture above, is my oldest son Josiah. He is starting pre-k on August 20th and he is so excited while I am a nervous wreck. A few weeks ago, I started to prepare my family. Yeah, I know I should have started sooner, but it was hard. Having two boys, being a wife is a lot of work and sometimes it gets really hard to balance out everything. I was committed to making this family change and to be honest I am happy I did. Below are a few things that I started to do, so we can be prepared for next week and for his entire school year.

Prepare A Schedule- I work an 8-5 job during the day and I am so glad that my job is 5 minutes away from my house. As soon as 5pm gets here, I go pick up my sons, head home, and give them bath. Then they eat dinner and then its bedtime. My schedule does not change so my sons are already use the routine. I feel like every family should plan a schedule and stick to it.  Also, it is very important to watch the time. I feel like the time goes by really slow when I am at work, and then goes really fast when I am home. Does that happen to you too? If you do not watch the time, your schedule will fall out of place and you will not get everything done.

Prepare Meals – My husband and I started cooking  three meals on Sunday. Geesh! That is a lot of work , but it is so worth it. I know some of you do not like leftovers, but our family loves it.  Those 3 meals last us for 1 week, because we cook a lot of food. Sometimes we will add something extra like a salad or bread to make the food taste better. Sometimes it gets boring eating leftovers so we spice it up a bit so it looks like a new meal. Once my family gets home, we already have dinner ready. It saves us so much time especially since my 3 year old take 5 years to eat his dinner lol. He is such a slow eater, but I love him to pieces.

Limit Electronics – Josiah loves his tablet, he wants to be on it 24/7. During the day, I allow him to bring it to my mother’s house. As soon as he gets home. It goes on the charger in our guest room so he do not find it. Once Josiah does not have his tablet, he is much more cooperated and gets everything done that he is supposed to.  We parents have to do this because children are too attached to their electronics. It is really bad in my house, I will not be surprised if my 5 month old wants at phone this month. Seriously!

Bed Time at 8pm SHARP– When I follow my schedule, it allows my family to be in bed by 8pm. The first couples of days were really difficult for Josiah. We would be in bed at 8pm and he would not go to bed until 10pm. He would toss and turn and I thought he would never get use to our new schedule. In a few days of this transition, he would be sleeping by 8:30pm. Yayy me!! It seems like I am doing a great job!  Right?

Prepare Weekly School Clothes – On Sunday, I pick out clothes for my sons for the entire week. Even though Josiah has not started school, he does go to my mother’s house so I am getting a lot of practice. It should be a piece of cake, when he starts school.

Sometimes people will envy you because you don’t Sometimes people will envy you because you don’t look like what you’ve been through. Some may want to see you struggle so they can feel like they're better than you. Some may want to see you struggle so they can laugh at you. What they don’t know is that God made you be the strong woman that you are today. What you went through didn’t kill you, it made you stronger. So stand tall and keep your head up high. Remember, you had to go through that season. You had to let go of that negative energy. You had to let go of those people in your life that only wanted to bring you down. You had to do it!You made the right decision.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr had a dream and that dre Dr. Martin Luther King Jr had a dream and that dream still matters.

Dr. King was a man that wanted equality, freedom, and peace. If it wasn't for him a lot of us wouldn't be there today. He fought for what's right and he didn't allow fear to stop him. We're grateful for all that he has done, but it doesn't stop there. The world still has a lot of changes to make. Let's do our part and love each other. Let's work together and never be silent because his dream still matters, her dream still matters, and our dream still matters. What's your dream?

One of the best things that ever happened to me is One of the best things that ever happened to me is becoming their mother.
👩‍👦‍👦

Before I became a mom, I was just a girl. I was just a wife, sister, daughter, and friend that just knew what it felt like to be love by others. When I became a mom, I was introduced to a different type of love. A love that's unconditional that I receive every day. This love is full of happiness, joy, smiles, and giggles. This love teaches me to be patient and to continue to strive to do my best because I want the best for them. The bond and love that we share is a feeling that's cannot be described in words. My kids remind me how grateful and blessed I am to be there mother.
Somedays I feel like #momlife is like a rollercoaster, but each day is full of love that makes my day better. Some days are better than some. Somedays I'm stressed out and feel like I'm not doing my best as a mom but that’s a lie. My kids love me and it's a reason why God choose me to be their mother.

So, whenever you’re having a bad day, look at your children. Stop what you’re doing and remember your hard pregnancy. Remember the first time you laid eyes on them. Remember that you're an amazing mother. Hug and cuddle with your babies and even cry if you have to, but dust it off and get back up. You're the best mom for your children.

What’s your best part about being a mom?
You’re enough. You’re beautiful. You’re love You’re enough. You’re beautiful. You’re loved. It doesn’t matter what this world brings, I want you to always remember who you are. #Fableticspartner

Sometimes it’s so easy to get distracted from your goals when you see others reaching their goals. Sometimes it’s so easy to feel like you’re not good enough or beautiful when you see others on social media. You shouldn’t think that way. We were all created to look different. If we all looked the same, it would look weird.

Remove that low self-esteem and get some @fabletics. Start to work on building up your self-confidences. Remove that negativity and start showing the world the real you. Others are waiting to see her.

Leave a 💙 if you know you’re beautiful and that today is going to be a good day.

Mamas, don’t raise your children to be racist. Mamas, don’t raise your children to be racist.

Yesterday, I had to unplug from being on social media as much. I had so many thoughts going through my mind. Then the fear and frustration started. I tried to not think or talk about what happened, but it was hard. Some of you may remember last year when I posted about what happened to Josiah. He walked up to one of our neighbors and said hi. The guy ignored him and kept walking. This was before covid, but I’ll never forget it. When things continue to happen in the world it makes you remember things that have previously happened. It makes you wonder when it will stop. Wondering if the world will ever get better. Wondering if people will ever change. Let’s do our part and do better.

Don’t you think we deserve change?
