A Lifestyle and Family Blog

Our first time visiting Legoland Florida

5:16 am Blog Post, Lifestyle, Mom Life, Travel

Have you ever wanted to go back in time and recreate those childhood memories? Did you know that you can? I recently did and I am going to tell you all about it.

A few weeks ago, my family and I decided to take a leap of faith and visit a place we have never been to. A place that the entire family would enjoy, and us older folks would get a chance to relax and go back in time and be a child again. We already knew no one could tell the difference between us and the kids. This would be a place that we would visit and use my youngest son’s birthday celebrations as the biggest excuse.

Let me take you on a journey of how we were once children again and the great joy we felt letting loose and living in that great moment. We booked our trip to the great Legoland Florida and we stayed at their luxurious Pirate Island Hotel. One fear that we had before arriving was the safety measures they had in place, however, these fears were laid to rest as masks were mandatory and the proper protocols were being followed. When I say the hotel experience was also amazing, it is an understatement. My children had a great time and my husband and I were kids once again. I have a big smile on my face reminiscing on the experience and the great customer service we received.

Upon our arrival at Legoland Florida, we could not contain ourselves, so we immediately went to the theme park and forgot our ages, and went in all in. Believe me when I say my husband and I were more excited than our kids and they were looking at us like who are these people. Legoland Florida made us forget about all our problems, bills, and all the other challenges that life brings. There were so many activities ranging from the theme park, water park, shopping, seasonal events, golfing and so much more.

I cannot remember the last time it felt so good having so much fun. We were elated when we saw that the lines were not as long as we expected, so this allowed us to go on more rides than we planned. We took a lot of photographs to save as memories and we ate good food and yes we had some kids food as well to live in the moment.

After having so much fun, we headed back to our hotel and changed into the cutest matching swimsuits to head to the water park.

We were so excited to have fun we forgot to wear our swimsuits under our clothes before starting out at the theme park. One point to note is that you cannot wear just your swimsuit throughout Legoland Florida theme park, however, you can wear it underneath your clothes.

Our swimsuits were provided by IFFEI and these matched our trip perfectly. They were affordable, the material was great and the styles were what were looking for. We ordered them from Amazon, and they arrived just in time for our trip. We love to wear matching swimsuits on vacation because they’re so cute and are perfect for photographs. It shows others that we’re family without us telling them, plus everyone notices matching outfits. All eyes are on you! We love our swimsuits and you can love yours too by getting your own by clicking here. IFFEI has the perfect matching and affordable swimsuits to make your family trip complete.

My children and us the big kids, enjoyed the Legoland Water park. It was so beautiful and we received several compliments on our swimsuits. My kids did not want to get out of the water as they were having a great time. Dinner came next at the buffet-style Bricks Family Restaurant at the hotel and I must say the food was delicious.

We had the best time at Legoland Florida and we are already excited when we think about when next we will be visiting. Being a kid again was a feeling we adults forgot about and we will forever cherish the memories we’ve created. If you have not visited Legoland Florida, I highly recommend you visit to experience the fun for yourself and to let loose and be a kid again.

Happy 11th wedding anniversary to us! 💍 5 thing Happy 11th wedding anniversary to us! 💍
5 things that we’ve learned:

- As we get older, we change. It’s up to both of us to adjust to the change and be willing to accept the change. Change isn’t always bad. Change is good for growth!

- There will be times when we can’t stand each other. It’s up to us to work through the situations and move on. Life is too short to be mad at the person you love. Sometimes it’s the pettiest thing that makes us can’t stand our partners, but marriage is a partnership. It will work if both of you want it to.

- Never go to bed angry! That’s the worst because what usually happens is the situations continue to pile up. Think of it as a balloon. When you blow into the balloon, the balloon gets bigger and bigger to the point that it may pop. That’s the same thing when we’re angry with our partner. When you go to bed angry, you allow the anger to continue to build up. Then the situation explodes and it could’ve been resolved if you would’ve talked about it that night before it got worst.

- If you fall out of love, work on falling back into love if you want your marriage to work. This is a team commitment. Sometimes we fall out of love if our partner. They may stop complimenting us. Sometimes you may feel unappreciated and it’s up to you to express how you feel to your partner and for you guys to work on those things. So you can feel loved again and remember why you fell in love with them.

- Marriage isn’t always 50/50 and you should be ok with it. Sometimes you may be doing more than your partner. Sometimes your partner may be doing more than you and it’s ok as long as you guys work together to get things done. No marriage is perfect. It takes work. It takes commitment and it takes two people to make it work.

What’s one thing that you have learned in your marriage?

It’s something about watching a man (the head of the house) put things in order. My husband had a hard life growing up in Jamaica, but that doesn’t mean our children need to go through the same.

Generational trauma symptoms are low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, and self-destructive behaviors. It’s important to break these cycles. Working through the hurts, pain, and healing from the past helps our children to not go through the same.

How are you breaking the cycle of generational trauma?

Marriage tip: ✨ Never stop dating each other! ✨

@theterracegrill is the perfect place for dinner or a brunch date. On Sundays, they have bottomless brunch. The food, service, and atmosphere are amazing! The restaurant is located inside @the_dalmar in downtown Fort Lauderdale. We can’t wait to visit again.

When was the last time you went on a date with your partner?
