Graduation is approaching and you may be looking for a graduation gift. Some of you may not know what to get your graduate, but you want to get something that’s affordable and of good quality. Look no further! I’m going to share with you some of the best and affordable graduation gifts that you can create with Cricut.

I can tell you about these ideas because I just created some graduation cards on Cricut for my son who graduated from kindergarten. Like you, I wanted to give him something different and something he would love that is cost-effective.

At first, I was nervous to create these graduation cards, because this was my first time using Cricut. Their website is easy, user-friendly, and perfect for beginners, which was perfect for me as I am no Graphics Designer but felt like one after creating my cards.

In order to make these cards, you will first need a Cricut Machine (A Cricut machine is a cutting machine that allows you to make beautiful crafts on your own). The one that I’m using is called “Cricut Joy”, which I plugged in the device and connected to my phone through Bluetooth as it does not have an on/off button. Once it was connected, I downloaded the free Cricut Joy app from my Apple Store, but you can use Playstore as well.

The app shows you all the Cricut designs you can choose from or you can create your own designs, but I decided to use some of their designs because it was easier. I was able to type in the category I needed, which was a graduation that starts and went through the step-by-step process. With your Cricut, you can create so many projects, such as graduation cards, graduation caps, graduation gowns, or you could create cards or gift baskets for your graduate.

You have a lot of options for different products, depending on the theme that you’re going for. Once you know what you’re looking for it’s super easy to make your designs using your Cricut.

Here is a list of the items that I used to make the graduation cards:

  • Cricut Joy™ Insert Cards
  •  Cricut Joy™ Card Mat, 4.5″ x 6.25
  • Fine Point Pen
  • Starter Tool Set
  •  Cricut Joy™

After making your card, you will need to remove the plastic before you place your card on your card mat. Once you remove the plastic, you’ll notice that the card mat is sticky. It’s sticky to ensure that the card doesn’t move while it’s in the Cricut machine. If you do not remove the plastic, your project will most likely not come out the way you want it to look. The plastic can be placed back on the card, once you’ve completed the project.

I’m already thinking about other projects that I’m going to create with my Cricut. It’s fun to create things in your own home while having fun. You can do the same too. Click here to learn more about Cricut and to get your own.

Happy 11th wedding anniversary to us! 💍 5 thing Happy 11th wedding anniversary to us! 💍
5 things that we’ve learned:

- As we get older, we change. It’s up to both of us to adjust to the change and be willing to accept the change. Change isn’t always bad. Change is good for growth!

- There will be times when we can’t stand each other. It’s up to us to work through the situations and move on. Life is too short to be mad at the person you love. Sometimes it’s the pettiest thing that makes us can’t stand our partners, but marriage is a partnership. It will work if both of you want it to.

- Never go to bed angry! That’s the worst because what usually happens is the situations continue to pile up. Think of it as a balloon. When you blow into the balloon, the balloon gets bigger and bigger to the point that it may pop. That’s the same thing when we’re angry with our partner. When you go to bed angry, you allow the anger to continue to build up. Then the situation explodes and it could’ve been resolved if you would’ve talked about it that night before it got worst.

- If you fall out of love, work on falling back into love if you want your marriage to work. This is a team commitment. Sometimes we fall out of love if our partner. They may stop complimenting us. Sometimes you may feel unappreciated and it’s up to you to express how you feel to your partner and for you guys to work on those things. So you can feel loved again and remember why you fell in love with them.

- Marriage isn’t always 50/50 and you should be ok with it. Sometimes you may be doing more than your partner. Sometimes your partner may be doing more than you and it’s ok as long as you guys work together to get things done. No marriage is perfect. It takes work. It takes commitment and it takes two people to make it work.

What’s one thing that you have learned in your marriage?

It’s something about watching a man (the head of the house) put things in order. My husband had a hard life growing up in Jamaica, but that doesn’t mean our children need to go through the same.

Generational trauma symptoms are low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, and self-destructive behaviors. It’s important to break these cycles. Working through the hurts, pain, and healing from the past helps our children to not go through the same.

How are you breaking the cycle of generational trauma?
